Welcome!
I've arranged my most frequently asked questions here to help you identify my store policies. Please take a moment to read through and understand these policies BEFORE you make a purchase. As always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to message me here or at hedgerowrose@gmail.com. Thanks a bunch!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: What types of payment do you accept?
A: My shop accepts Paypal. You do not need an account with Paypal to use their service.
Q: Where do you make your jewelry? Am I purchasing from an individual artist or a group of artisans?
A: This shop is entirely run by little 'ol me from our smoke-free, pet-friendly home in Central Pennsylvania. I am mostly self-taught and each item is designed, created, photographed, listed, packaged and shipped by me.
Q: How come you no longer stamp your gold and silver with 14kt or Sterling marks?
A: Under United States law, a jeweler is not required to quality stamp their jewelry. However, if he/she chooses to do so, they must also stamp their federally registered trademark beside it. I am now in the process of registering my new shop trademark, which means I am unable to quality stamp my new (fabricated after 4/16/12) gold and silver jewelry until it is approved. Under U.S. law, my description of the item will suffice as an identification of the metal type until my trademark is approved.
A: Downloadable ring sizers can be found on the Internet, but I recommend visiting a jewelry store and trying on several rings in various widths to find your true size as I do not size rings, nor do I accept returns for custom orders that were purchased in the incorrect size. Keep in mind that rings with a wide band will fit more snugly and a general rule of thumb is to order 1/2 to 1 whole size UP from your normal ring size when purchasing a ring with a wider band. Again, it's best to visit a jewelry store and find your correct ring size as everyone's fingers are different.
Q: Do you resize rings?
A: At this time, I am not offering any resizing on my rings.
Q: How and when will my order ship?
A: The shipping fee you pay for your jewelry is flat-rate (in other words, you can buy as much as you want and only pay one shipping fee) and includes the cost of the postage/packaging materials to ship **Priority Mail** within the United States and **First Class Mail International** outside the United States. Orders within the U.S. that are over $100 will include insurance. ALL orders outside of the United States will include insurance. I ship ready-made orders 1-3 business days following confirmed payment. (E-checks may take up to 2 weeks to clear and then I will ship the items.) Custom orders will ship 2-3 weeks following confirmed payment.
Q: I live WITHIN the U.S. After my order ships, how will I know to track it and when it will arrive?
A: Orders within the United States are shipped via the United States Postal Service using Priority Mail which includes tracking and delivers within 3-5 business days (typically.) Orders over $100 will include insurance. I will ship to the address on your PAYPAL so please be sure there aren't any inaccuracies.
A: Orders outside of the U.S. ship via the United States Postal Service using First Class Mail International. This type of service DOES NOT include tracking. Once the package has left my hands, there is no way for me to determine where it is on it's route or how long it will take to get to it's destination. Orders over $100 will include insurance. I will ship to the address on your PAYPAL so please be sure there aren't any inaccuracies. Please expect that your package may take several weeks to arrive. Customs and duties fees are solely the responsibility of the buyer.
Q. Will I be charged sales tax?
A: You will be charged a 6% sales tax fee if you live within Pennsylvania.
Q: What if I need to make a return?
A: I will gladly accept a return on non-custom, non-sale, and non-earring items. However, you MUST CONTACT ME FIRST to let me know of the problem, and item(s) MUST BE RETURNED (POSTMARKED) WITHIN 5 DAYS OF RECEIPT IN THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION (including all original packaging) to qualify for a refund (minus shipping fees). Orders that are returned without prior authorization and/or sent outside of this 5 day window will be returned to sender. I stand firm on these policies, so PLEASE do not purchase from me unless you are OK with them. Authorized returns may be sent to: Hedgerow Rose, PO Box 784, State College, PA, 16804, USA
Q: How will my order be packaged?
A: I am very mindful about how much paper products I use when I ship orders, therefore items will be combined into as little packaging as possible, while still being presented beautifully. (Individual gift boxes can be purchased in my shop if you need item(s) individually wrapped.) I never include a receipt with orders and all of my pre-printed labels and such are printed on recycled paper with soy ink. My mailers are padded with recycled paper and my tissue paper is acid-free and made from 100% recycled fibers. My ring boxes are 100% recycled cardboard box (made with 77% post-consumer fiber and 23% pre-consumer fiber) with a die-cut flocked foam insert. My earring boxes are sourced from a company that manufactures with renewable hydroelectric energy. They consist of 100% recycled materials - on average 80% is post consumer. Non-tarnishing ultra white synthetic cotton filler is 100% recycled. Paper wrap material is 100% recycled and Process Chlorine Free (PCF). I rarely use bubble wrap, only when absolutely necessary, and it's always reused from a package that was sent to me. I encourage you to keep and reuse, too!
Q: I still have questions!
A: You can reach me by messaging me here or at hedgerowrose@gmail.com. I am usually able to respond to inquiries Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
